The purpose of this email is to make you aware that the Methacton High School Marching Band is being filmed TONIGHT - by the news! The show for which the filming is taking place is 'High School Huddle' on Channel 6 (http://6abc.com/huddle/)

We believe that it airs every Friday night. 

More information is likely to follow as we hear more, so please do stayed tuned!

Get Ready for the Season: Upcoming Events!

Greetings Methacton Music families and Marching Warriors! 

Summer is nearly halfway through and our Directors and students have been working diligently at clinics leading up to Band Camp! Cudos to EVERYONE for all of their great efforts as we begin anew with the season's lineup as follows: 

• Remaining clinics: July 21st, July 28th, and August 4th 

• August 11th is Commitment Day with rehearsal from 1-9 PM 

• Band Camp Kicks Off                                                                                      
• August 17th and runs Monday through Fridays through August 28th. 
• Please remember to bring water and sunscreen each day 

•  August 19th: BAND CAMP and our 59 MINUTE FUNDRAISER!
• All members should report to Band Camp at NOON  because we're starting the afternoon with our 59 minute fundraiser! SO......... STUDENTS, bring your cell phones and get ready to let your fingers fly texting friends and family members who will support the Marching Warriors by purchasing a card that pays for itself and supports businesses right here in our local community - and it takes ONLY 59 MINUTES TO DO! Participating local businesses and restaurants will be announced when the list is finalized.Stay tuned!
• Band Camp will begin immediately afterwards!

• ·August 21st-23rd: Passport to Skippack Fundraiser!

• Don't let the Dog Days of Summer' keep you from strolling,shopping and dining at The Square at Skippack Village from 10 am to 5 pm Friday thru Sunday, August 21-23. 10% of all purchases on these dates (excluding salon services) will be donated to Methacton Music Boosters to support the programs in which our students participate! 
• Make a day of it with your girlfriends, or a date of it with your sweetheart ~ either way, it will help the beat go on at Methacton! There will be 10 participating merchants, among them, a restaurant and three salons, for which you will be provided a 'Passport'.There is definitely something for everyone! Passports are at the printer! 

• August 30th: Car Wash at the Shell Station in Trooper from 9-3

Spread the word to family, friends and neighbors - it's car wash time again! From 9 am to 3 pm, at Park and Ridge, we'll be looking to have parents, musicians, guard members, friends and family to help~ so come on out, and have some fun 'drumming up' business for a cause. It's always a blast! 

• Spirit Wear for Sale

Band jackets for sale!  We will ask for orders of marching band jackets during band camp. Parents - we encourage you to buy them as well since they are warm and show support in the stands – they will be the same as in past years. Order forms will be in the band room during camp. We are awaiting a final price - stay tuned!

• Open Position: Equipment Coordinator

·         We are still in need of an equipment coordinator for the season. Please consider signing up for this position as there are others with whom you would work that would be handling the equipment. No one is ever alone - It's definitely a team effort!    

Parents, and especially newcomers - 

Thank you for all the ways that you assist us. We cannot do it without you, and the kids benefit from the gift of your presence. Please feel free to reach out to us if you have any questions, or would like to be more involved. This is a great organization and we'll be happy to speak with you!
